We're so excited to be starting the Tamora Pierce SAL!

This one means a lot to me because Tamora Pierce was one of my favorite authors when I was a teenager, and still is one of them today. I reread her books (at least Protector of the Small, Immortals, or the first Circle books) once a year.

I do have to say this release doesn't have a lot of graphics, but it has one that should be pretty recognizable! We had a lot of guesses that the first release would feature Alanna, but we decided to go a little more chronologically, so we're starting with Beka Cooper. The books are based off the covers of one of the print runs, and the quote is one that I really enjoyed. I actually only read the Beka Cooper books this last year, and I'm not quite done with Mastiff (I have to charge my Kindle to be able to finish it!)

I do promise that you get a few more graphics in the next release!

It's the last installment of our freebie bookmark SAL!

This bookmark is inspired by The Numair Chronicles, which I am anxiously awaiting for the next installment of, and has one of my favorite quotes from the first book. I know that Numair isn't the person to say this quote, but it's how I feel about him quite often, so it seemed like it fit well. The necklace is a black opal, set in a silver setting, which he's described wearing.

I love Numair, and I'm really glad he is getting his backstory told, because I think it's great to see that part of the world a bit closer up. I really enjoy hearing about how mages are taught in different novels, because there are so many different things that can be put in their schooling (I also find it amusing what's left out of their training!)

We're releasing this one a couple days early (we're getting ready to go see some friends for a long weekend and I won't have the computer with me there) but that just gives everyone a little more time to stitch it up before we start with the Tamora Pierce SAL. Can't wait to have everyone join us for it!

This week's bookmark is inspired by the Beka Cooper series. For this one figuring out what to do around the edge of the bookmark was a little more difficult, until I remembered that Beka solves her first big case by seeing this necklace on the culprit.

I've been really enjoying this series, I'd actually not read it before this year, and still need to finish up Mastiff. Beka has such a wonderful amount of character, and I love seeing Tortall's past.

The quote just seemed to fit, both the series as a whole, and the bookmark itself, so it just fit naturally in.
