2022 Modern Broadway SAL - Release 3 Design Insights

The third release of the Modern Broadway SAL is inspired by Les Miserables! This one's always a fan favorite. We of course went with a neon version of the French flag.

The lines were a little harder to fit in, but we really wanted to use the larger font for "One Day More" that is more like what's on some of the posters. I dreamed a dream and 24601 finish out the design. You don't get a hint on the next release from this one, but you do get a hint for the 8th release under the D!

2022 Classic Broadway SAL - Release 3 Design Insights

The third release is inspired by My Fair Lady!

This one was a lot of fun. We ended up going with the flower basket for one of the graphics, and the other is a gramma phone.

Four lyric lines this time, 'I'm getting married in the morning' and you got a tiny sneak peak at the beginning of 'I could have danced all night' then we have 'I did it'.

The fourth lyric line is inspired directly from one of the posters in style, the letters having different colors of backstitch all over. It's so pretty looking, but you certainly have my apologies for how frustrating it might be to stitch!

Overall this was a really fun letter to design, can't wait for the next one!

2022 Modern Broadway SAL - Release 2 Design Insights

This week's release is Hairspray! Of course it features the can of hairspray as well as some stylized particles similar to those found on some of the Broadway posters.

We chose three lines for this one, but you won't see the third line for a while (it's under the can). Since the can is in neon and the label mostly covered by the O we did 'Ultra Clutch' beside the can inside the O and of course 'You can't stop the beat' above the O

There isn't a hint on this one for what the next musical might be, so you'll have to guess just based off the colors we post in our Facebook SAL group a day or two before the next release :)
