WHO ARE TAYLOR AND CROMWELL
Taylor and Cromwell is a family business, started by me (Cynthia). My wife Tina, and her mom Debbie also work on patterns and supplies for Taylor and Cromwell, and together we run the business.
When I was young I never thought I would grow up to be a cross stitch designer, or have a craft store. My mom Trudy taught me how to cross stitch when I was about 5, because I followed her around constantly asking to do what she was doing. Her favorite thing to stitch is Teddy Bears, and she is a more excellent stitcher than I'll ever be.

Throughout my life I've taught anyone with the slightest interest in stitching how to cross stitch. I even taught at a local yarn store for a few years, leading little kids to learn how to put their first x's in. My goal is to one day have a physical cross stitch store in addition to our online presence.
The name Taylor and Cromwell actually came from my wife and I's interest in steampunk. We had characters made up to go to conventions with, June Cromwell and Melanie Taylor, my wife and I respectively. So when I came up with the idea many years ago to try to make an Etsy shop to sell knit and crochet items (which I never did, but I did make the shop) I named it Taylor and Cromwell, because I was considering making it a more steampunk themed shop.

Of course that didn't happen, but we kept the name and it, our printed packaging, and elements of our website are all throw backs to how Taylor and Cromwell began.
